JOEL MURPHY.

From the Gold Coast to the global stage, Joel Murphy is a force in the dance world. With a career that kicked off at just 8 years old, Joel’s passion for contemporary dance and storytelling has led him to work on some of the biggest stages and screens around the world.
You might recognise him from blockbuster films like Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Seriously Red, or Elvis—where he stepped into the shoes (and movements) of Austin Butler as his official dance double. He’s performed with top Australian artists, created his own original show Incarnate, and in 2023, was invited to choreograph at London’s iconic Move It Convention.
Known for his unique style and explosive creativity, Joel brings something truly special to every room he steps into—and we’re so excited to have him join us at The Overdrive Convention.

Choreographer. Performer. World Champion.
A powerhouse in the hip hop and commercial dance world, Jacob Tautoko brings over a decade of elite experience to the stage—and he’s just getting started. A two-time HHI World Champion and former member of the iconic Royal Family Dance Crew, Jacob has travelled the globe performing, teaching, and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
His resume includes working with internationally recognised crews like IDco and Sole Fam, starring in New Zealand’s premiere dance film Born to Dance, and performing in the hit Step Up live show in Dubai. He’s also graced screens in shows like Dance Life, and earned accolades for his choreography across global stages.
Known as one of Australia’s most in-demand hip hop choreographers, Jacob is passionate about creating space for dancers to grow, express, and unlock their full potential. His sessions are more than just movement—they’re high-energy, high-impact, and unforgettable.

Performer. Choreographer. Australia’s NEXT Big Thing.
With a career spanning film, TV, fashion, and global stages, Amira Younan-Wise is one of the most versatile artists in the industry right now. Her screen credits include Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, the comedy feature Zombie Plane, and high-profile international campaigns for American Tourister x Chupa Chups, Wildflower Gin, and Sentosa Resorts Singapore. She’s also featured in music videos for Jessica Mauboy, Jason Derulo, Tones & I, and Jacob Lee.
On stage, Amira has lit up performances with The Dream Dance Company in their 2021 ICON show and took centre stage at the FIFA World Cup 2024 Opening Ceremony, performing alongside Tones & I. Her artistry has also crossed into fashion and tech, modeling as an AI character for the L’Oréal Runway Event and performing at Lululemon’s launch of their shoe range.
Beyond performing, Amira is a passionate educator, bringing her industry knowledge and infectious energy to studios, schools, and conventions across Australia. Whether it’s leading masterclasses or mentoring emerging dancers, she inspires at every level.

Performer. Choreographer. Industry Powerhouse.
From The Dream Dance Company to the global stage, Soraya Foley-Dawson is one of Australia’s most dynamic and versatile performers. A graduate of Village Nation Full-Time and alumni of projects like The Forge Tap Project and Girls on Tap, Soraya’s foundation in dance is as strong as her passion for performance.
Her resume is stacked—she’s shared the stage with Kylie Minogue, Meghan Trainor, Tones and I, Jess Mauboy, Guy Sebastian, and Samantha Jade, and appeared on major platforms like The Voice Grand Finals, Australian Idol, the ARIA Awards, AACTA Awards, and more.
With unstoppable energy, an authentic love for the craft, and a passion for lifting up the next generation—Soraya is ready to bring it all to The Overdrive Convention.

Joshua Cesan is the co-founder and director of IDentity Dance Company (IDCO)—one of New Zealand’s most decorated crews with an incredible 3 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze medals from the World Hip Hop Championships, plus countless national and international titles.
Renowned for pioneering his signature style, “Glitching,” Josh has carved out a lane that’s unmistakably his own—emulated by dancers around the world and celebrated for its innovation and control. His choreography is powerful, intricate, and always ahead of the curve.
On the commercial stage, Josh’s work spans continents. From choreographing for Guinness World Records’ largest projection mapping show in Dubai, to starring and choreographing in NZ’s first hip hop dance film Born to Dance, Josh’s creative reach is global. He’s worked on campaigns for Sony, Les Mills, and Steinlager, and choreographed music videos for MONSTA X, Shapeshifter, Virus Syndicate, and Deadbeat.
